Educação a distância: fundamentos, contextos e perspectivas

Este artigo é fruto da pesquisa de mestrado em Supervisão Pedagógica e Formação de Formadores, ofertado pela Escola Superior de Educação Almeida Garret (Lisboa Pt). O estudo tem por objetivo explicitar o cenário em que a Educação a Distância (EAD) está circunscrita, no seu desenvolvimento histórico-político-educacional no Brasil, no intuito de desvelar os elementos que compõem os fundamentos político-educacional, teórico, conceitual e metodológico desta modalidade educativa. Explicitamos fundamentos, contextos e perspectivas da EAD. A abordagem, de ordem qualitativa, pautou-se na interpretação da realidade, no caráter hermenêutico dos pressupostos, teorias e legislação que subsidiam a modalidade. A análise centrou-se na compreensão e interpretação da literatura e legislação que fundamentam esta modalidade educacional. Através do presente estudo, foi possível constatar que a EAD possui uma singularidade própria em que se manifesta a distância física entre professor e aluno, o estudo individualizado, independente e autônomo, o processo de ensino e aprendizagem mediatizado, o uso de novas tecnologias e a comunicação bidirecional. Políticas educacionais;   DISTANCE EDUCATION: BASICS, CONTEXTS AND PERSPECTIVES Abstract: This article is the result of a master’s study in Pedagogical Supervision and the Training of Trainers, offered by the Superior School of Education Almeida Garret (Lisbon, Portugal). The study aims to explain the scenario in which Distance Education (DE) is limited within its historical-political-educational development in Brazil, with the purpose of revealing the elements that form the political-educational, theoretical, conceptual and methodological bases of this educational mode. We explain the bases, contexts and perspectives of DE. The qualitative approach was based on the interpretation of reality, in the hermeneutic nature of the assumptions, theories and legislation that subsidize the format. The analysis focused on the understanding and interpretation of literature and legislation that support this educational format. Through this study, it was possible to verify that DE has its own singularity where physical distance between teacher and student is manifested, individualized and independent study, the mediated teaching and learning process, the use of new technologies and bidirectional communication.
