Resumo: Abstract This study assessed the predictors of Burnout syndrome in a sample of 518 psychologists working in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The research instruments used were the Cuestionario para la Evaluación del Síndrome de Quemarse por el Trabajo (Job Burnout Syndrome Assessment Questionnaire); the Psychosocial Risk Assessment Battery, the COPE Inventory - scale to assess coping strategies; the Emotional Labor Scale, and a questionnaire for the assessment of sociodemographic and labor variables. Multiple Linear Regression analysis results indicate that the predictors with the greatest explanatory power of the Burnout dimensions were overwork and emotion-focused coping strategies. The predictive model reveals that the risks of developing Burnout arise from the correlation between personal and work-related variables.
