Summary: How is the practice of communicative citizenship characterized in a community radio developed by Sem Terra? The answer to this question goes through the definition of communicative citizenship as an action and a participation strategy inside public sphere. Connecting it with the experience of observation that took place in the community radio Terra Livre FM, situated in 25 de Maio settlement in Abelardo Luz (SC), communicative citizenship is entwined by a complex network made of elements that involve participation, different forms of sociality and the free expression of thought. Communicative actions that guarantee the establishment of new rights which, through words, mediates citizenship practices and the participation of subjects.
