Resumo: This work has as main objective an analysis of the validity of the implementation of a floodedevaporator in a vapor compression refrigerant cycle, the working fluid being the R134a. Toachieve this goal, it was used a simulation software, the Pack Calculation Pro. A comparisonof the annual energy consumption of the refrigeration system with a flooded evaporator wascarried out having as reference the same system with a dry evaporator and working indifferent situations. In this study, the advantages and disadvantages of using the two types ofevaporators, the flooded and dry one, having the system used for situations equal coolingcapacity and the possible presence of overheating for the dry evaporator and the presence ofthe pump in the flooded evaporator was analyzed. It was concluded that the advantage in theimplementation of flooded evaporator is directly proportional to the degree of overheating atthe exit of the dry evaporator. Also an economic analysis were carried out.
