Summary: | Atriplex nummularia L. is one of the most studied halophytes in research on phytoremediation of salt-affected soils. However, the optimization of biomass requires studies that indicate the appropriate way to evaluate the photosynthesis. The objective of this study was to investigate the photosynthetic efficiency of Atriplex irrigated in order to indicate the best range of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) that should be used . Atriplex were subjected to daily irrigations (0, 50, 100, 200, 250 and 300 mmol L-1 of NaCl). The light curves were determined at 15 and 84 days applying twenty light intensities (2000, 1750, 1500, 1250, 1000, 750, 500, 250, 200,175, 150, 125, 100, 75, 50, 25, 15, 10, 5, 0 μmol m-2 s-1 PAR). The highest values of photosynthesis rate were observed at PAR of 2000 μmol m-2 s-1 and of 800 μmol m-2 s-1 to 15 and 84 days of evaluation, independent of the NaCl. The present study provides data that support the choice of the ideal PAR in evaluations of gas exchange in Atriplex. |

Sin embargo, la optimización de la biomasa requiere de estudios que indiquen la forma adecuada de evaluar la fotosíntesis. El objetivo de este estudio fue investigar la eficiencia fotosintética de Atriplex irrigado para indicar el mejor rango de radiación fotosintéticamente activa (PAR) que se debe utilizar. Atriplex fueron sometidos a riegos diarios (0, 50, 100, 200, 250 y 300 mmol L-1 de NaCl). Las curvas de luz se determinaron a los 15 y 84 días aplicando veinte intensidades de luz (2000, 1750, 1500, 1250, 1000, 750, 500, 250, 200, 175, 150, 125, 100, 75, 50, 25, 15, 10, 5 , 0 μmol m-2 s-1 PAR). Los mayores valores de tasa de fotosíntesis se observaron en PAR de 2000 μmol m-2 s-1 y de 800 μmol m-2 s-1 a los 15 y 84 días de evaluación, independientemente del NaCl. El presente estudio proporciona datos que sustentan la elección del PAR ideal en evaluaciones de intercambio gaseoso en Atriplex.Atriplex nummularia L. é uma das halófitas mais estudadas em pesquisas sobre fitorremediação de solos afetados por sais. No entanto, a otimização da biomassa requer estudos que indiquem a forma adequada de avaliar a fotossíntese. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi investigar a eficiência fotossintética da Atriplex irrigada a fim de indicar a melhor faixa de radiação fotossinteticamente ativa (PAR) que deve ser utilizada. Atriplex foi submetida a irrigações diárias (0, 50, 100, 200, 250 e 300 mmol L-1 de NaCl). As curvas de luz foram determinadas aos 15 e 84 dias aplicando vinte intensidades de luz (2000, 1750, 1500, 1250, 1000, 750, 500, 250, 200.175, 150, 125, 100, 75, 50, 25, 15, 10, 5 , 0 μmol m-2 s-1 PAR). Os maiores valores de taxa de fotossíntese foram observados no PAR de 2000 μmol m-2 s-1 e de 800 μmol m-2 s-1 aos 15 e 84 dias de avaliação, independente do NaCl.
