Resumo: To understand the ways in which people make meaning out of the body nowadays, it is necessary to go back in time, even if briefly, through history, through the ways in which the body has been experienced. Thus, it is the aim of these structured reflections, having the body as its focus, to think about some of the social and cultural aspects influencing its construction in our society, how it has been and can be seen and perceived.
