The object of our study of this work consists in the analysis of the poet Manoel Monteiro’s leaflets fair, with highlights for the categories of laughter and humor, erotic love and intertextuality. The categories listed were worked following the footsteps of Bardin (1977) as a suggestion for a methodological perspective, aided by a theoretical foundation that covers up aspects of culture in their cultural bias, especially Bakhtin, Bourdieu, Chartier, Foucault, Hutcheon, Zumthor, Bergson, Minois, among others.The goals worked throughout the research as to bring out the compelling issues of the overall work of the poet, as well as highlight his poetic work, served as the mainstay for the establishment of problematization, that is, how to contextualize the whole monteiriana work and how to highlight the various nuances of his poetry, which resulted in the selection of the categories.Thus, it becomes apparent to us that the poet promotes in his fair brochures what Canclini (1997) called the hybridization of cultures, without losing sight of local color, blending harmoniously the traditional (represented by the literary form in which he writes) and the contemporary (shown in addressing the themes developed in all of his stories).The result is presented in a satisfactory manner and opens space for new forays into deeper understanding of the author's work.
