Evolution of the determinative ones of the north-eastern inaquality of wage income

Resumo: Although Brazilian income inequality is still ranked among the highest in the world, its reduction has been a drawing point after Plano Real. Given the importance of the labor market in explaining this reduction, this research has the objective to show its main determinants. The methodology used in this research is applied to Northeastern Brazil using the data from the national survey PNAD in the years 1995-2005 and 2001-2005. This decomposition shows that education is still the main important determinant of the labor income inequality.
