Acessibilidade em espaço universitário: barreiras arquitetônicas na Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso – campus do Pontal do Araguaia

Resumo: When it comes to inclusion, we have Law nº 13,409 of December 28, 2016, which guarantees the reservation of vacancies for people with disabilities in federal institutions of higher education, resulting in a considerable increase in the number of students entering these educational institutions. In this context, this research evaluates the space of one of these institutions, in this case a case study, with the theme spatial accessibility in universities, with the general objective is to verify the conditions of accessibility for people with disabilities (PwD), in particular those who have physical or motor disabilities, at the Araguaia campus – Federal University of Mato Grosso, in Pontal do Araguaia. The Brazilian norm that establishes standards regarding accessibility is NBR 9050:2020. Based on this norm, a checklist divided into 10 areas with a total of 200 observed items was elaborated, to carry out the accessibility analysis on the Pontal do Araguaia campus, which is the object of study of this research. Through the data collection carried out on the campus, it was possible to perceive that the vast majority of the analyzed items are outside the parameters to be considered accessible, since the most frequent problems were found in the bathrooms, even with recent reforms, also showing that there is a concern about accessibility on campus and thus seeking to improve PwD's daily life on campus.
