Resumo: Agricultural and florets crops must be protecting from the phytophagous pests, however, when it is possible, they be free from synthetic agrochemicals, due to their ecotoxicological impacts. Then, products and others alternatives methods to them have been applied or studied each more time to control these pests. In this context, the predator insects may play a fundamental role in the protection to these crops, since they constitute biotic mortality agent of many pests, that is, they compose a complex of natural enemies or biological control of them. Thus, the necessity to attract natural enemies of the pest to the agroecosystems becomes so important. The specie Chrysoperla externa (Hagen) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae), generally called of crisopids, is a natural enemy that present high reproductive potential, great capacity of searching of its preys, feeding voracity of its larvae and facility of rearing in the laboratory, which make them an excellent predator. This species is predator only in the larval stage and glicopollynivorous in the adult stage, feeding on pollen and nectar. In this context, aiming to give subsidies to conservation biological control, the chapter I have as the objectives to identify botanical families and/or species that provide pollen to adults of C. externa collected in a diversified agroecosystem, under organic management, and to evaluate if there is difference in the amount of pollen grains ingested between males and females. Pollen grains of 19 families of Angiosperms were ingested by the adults of C. externa, but the pollen of Poaceae was ingested in highest amount. The females of C. externa ingested more amounts of pollen grains than the males. The chapter II, aiming to give subsidies to augmentative biological control, have as objectives to evaluate the capacity of ingestion of industrial pollen grains of the Johnson grass [Sorghum halepense (L.) Pers. (Poaceae) and sagebrush [Artemisia tridentata Nutt. (Asteraceae)] by adults of C. externa, and is there is preference between these pollens in order to be included in artificial diets to its rearing in laboratory; and evaluate the effects of the provision of the pollinic diets on biology characters of adults of C. externa in controlled conditions of laboratory. The both pollen grains of the Johnson grass and sagebrush were ingested by the adults of C. externa and there is no preference between them. The diets constituted by pollen grains of the Johnson grass did not cause satisfactory results about the longevity of adults and the reproductive characters of the C. externa, either when honey was added.

Submitted by Sandra Pereira (srpereira@ufrrj.br) on 2019-06-24T14:23:29Z No. of bitstreams: 1 2013 - Kandice de Alencar Andrade.pdf: 532691 bytes, checksum: 8ce6ab00e2675574353db0d030a7f59e (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2019-06-24T14:23:29Z (GMT). description Agricultural and florets crops must be protecting from the phytophagous pests, however, when it is possible, they be free from synthetic agrochemicals, due to their ecotoxicological impacts.
