Análise da apropriação pelos usuários de parques urbanos: estudo de casos na Bacia da Pampulha Belo Horizonte, MG

Nowadays, with the thematics of requalification of urban spaces, with the increasing demand of spaces for leisure and recreation and with the introduction of landscaping and environmental dimensions in the designing, the theme Urban Park takes a significant role in the development of designs and projects. In this way, the present work comes to propose an investigation on this theme, searching to make an analysis of the appropriation by the users of the urban parks located at Pampulha Basin, in Belo Horizonte. Because of the impossibility of working with all the parks, it was chosen to select three of them: Confisco Park, Cassia Eller Park and Ecological Park Promotor Francisco Lins do Rego. In order to reach such goal, questionnaires, mental maps, photographic survey and a structured guidebook for observation were used, searching for data that would trace the profile of the users and that would help in the understanding of use and ways of space appropriation. It was noted that Confisco Park has vitality, especially because of the Soccer School that runs daily in this place. However, it has faced many problems like lack of security, vandalism and the presence of drug users. On the other hand, Cassia Eller Park is the one that receives most care, because its facilities and equipments are very well maintained, and its gardens, as well. All this care is because of the Fazenda da Serra Estate Resident Association, which is responsible for the space, in spite of being a public space. Nevertheless, this park shows an unusual situation, since there is a sentry box with farm gates at the entrance for the area of the referred estate, which gives the impression to the passers that the space is private. It is highlighted that, actually, the entrance is limited to the owners and their guests, and that situation promotes questions regarded to the definition of the referred area as a park. The Ecological Park Promotor Francisco Lins do Rego is very popular and it is noticed that it has a potential to become a metropolitan park, because of the characteristics of its program and its localization close to the shore and to the complex Lagoa da Pampulha. It is believed that the results of this work will contribute to the process of park management in Belo Horizonte, since the visiting public and the characteristics of each one of the parks are very different.
