Níveis de triptofano digestível em rações para suínos machos castrados de alto potencial genético dos 97 aos 125 kg

The experiment was conduced with objective of evaluate the effect of digestible tryptophan levels on the performance and carcass characteristics of heavy swine. A number of 80 commercial hybrid castrated swine males of high genetic potential for lean deposition on carcass were used, with initial and final body weight; respectively, of 97.0 ± 2.81 kg and 125.0 ± 3.31 kg distributed in a randomized experimental block design, with five treatments (0.124; 0.133; 0.142; 0.151 e 0.160% % of digestible tryptophan), respectively to the relationships of 16.5; 17.7; 18.9; 20.1 e 21.3% of digestible tryptophan lysine, with eight repetitions and two animals in each experimental unit. The digestible tryptophan level influenced the daily gain that improved by a quadratic way until the level of 0.144 %. The digestible tryptophan intake increased in a linear way when the tryptophan intake level was increased in the diet. It was not observed effect of the treatments on feed intake, feed conversion and carcass characteristics. It was concluded that the level of 0.144% of digestible tryptophan, corresponding a relationship of digestible tryptophan: lysine of 19.2%, provided the best results of weight gain for barrows with high genetic potential for lean deposition, from 97.0 to 125.0 kg.
