Resumo: The experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of energy intake levels on production and reproduction performance of sows. Fifty crossbred Landrace X Large White sows, thirty of second, and twenty of thirth parity, averaging 193.8 kg of body weight at farrowing, were distributed into five treatments based on different levels of energy intake during lactation: 15,040, 15,510, 15,980, 16,450 and 16,920 kcal of digestible energy/day. Body weight weaning increased and lactation weight loss decreased linearly with the energy intake. There was negative correlation between the interval to estrus and body weight at weaning and lactation weight loss. It is concluded that in sows the increase of energy during lactation increase at the weaning body weight and that the thinner sows at weaning the longer is the time to estrus.

Foram utilizadas 50 porcas, sendo 30 de segundo e 20 de terceira ordem de parto, mestiças Landrace x Large White, com peso corporal médio de 193,8 kg ao parto, distribuídas em cinco tratamentos, de acordo com os níveis de consumo de energia na fase de lactação: 15.040, 15.510, 15.980, 16.450 e 16.920 kcal energia digestível (ED)/dia. O peso ao final da lactação aumentou e a perda de peso na lactação diminuiu linearmente, com o aumento do consumo de energia. Observou-se correlação negativa entre o número de dias para o estro e peso ao final da lactação e perda de peso corporal durante a lactação.
