In this work we will study a construction system based on the use of refurbished marine contêineres. This constructive model stands out for sustainability, as it provides the recycling of the contêineres that would be discarded after the end of their useful life in the function they normally perform that is the transport of goods. The application of refurbished marine contêineres in civil construction is a subject with little study from the scientific point of view, and very few technical papers dealing with the structural aspects of this system are very rare. This paper presents the constitution of one of the types of marine contêineres and analyzes all the metallic profiles that compose them as well as the respective geometric and mechanical properties of their sections. It is also object of study of this work the analysis of a case that consists of the use of refurbished maritime contêineres for the construction of a dwelling with two floors and with a non regular structure. The evaluation of the resistant capacity for regulatory actions is made. For this, computational numerical models extracted from the twodimensional software Ftool are used. The structural analysis is performed in light of NBR 14762: 2010. It is shown that the application of this standard to the constructive system under study is limited by the lack of kNowledge of mechanical parameters related to the noncommercial metallic profiles of marine contêineres. Nevertheless, the feasibility of this constructive system in the field of small residential buildings is proven.
