Resumo: | The results reached by the Brazilian beach soccer team reflect the qualification level of its athletes, in spite of being a new sports modality. In order to keep this level in further generations of athletes, it is important to study this modality tactically and technically, as well as functionally and genetically, seeking to diagnose the morpho-functional characteristics corresponding to each game position, as well as to select athletes who are endowed with potential to meet those requirements. Thus, the purpose of this study was to identify the dermatoglyphical and somatotypical characteristics of the Brazilian beach soccer team. |

Thus, the purpose of this study was to identify the dermatoglyphical and somatotypical characteristics of the Brazilian beach soccer team.Os resultados alcançados pela seleção brasileira de beach soccer refletem o nível de qualificação alcançado pelos praticantes desta modalidade esportiva no Brasil,apesar de seu pouco tempo de existência. Para a manutenção deste quadro pelas futuras gerações, tornase importante conhecer, cada vez mais profundamente, a modalidade nos aspectos técnico e tático, bem como nos funcionais e genéticos, buscando diagnosticar as características morfofuncionais próprias para cada posição de jogo, bem como selecionar aqueles dotados de potencial para atender tais exigências.
