Resumo: | This investigation aims to understand how primary teachers implement the educational policies of citizenship outlined in official documents. Thus, the legal texts that guide teachers and define education policies for citizenship of the Portuguese Ministry of Education and of the European Union, were analysed. The data obtained through a questionnaire made available online was answered by 109 teachers aged between 23 and 63 years old and allowed us to conclude that there is a great variety in the topics covered and in the teaching strategies. Environmental Education and the rules of interpersonal coexistence were the most referenced domains. References to solidarity actions in the community and the establishment of rules of interpersonal coexistence constituted pedagogical practices that refer to a current conception of citizenship. |

Así, se analizaron los textos legales y las directrices del Ministerio de Educación portugués y de la Unión Europea, que definen las políticas de Educación para la Ciudadanía, que han servido de guía para que los docentes eduquen para la/y en ciudadanía en EB. Los datos obtenidos a través de cuestionarios disponibles en línea, respondidos por 109 docentes con edades comprendidas entre 23 y 63 años, permitieron concluir que existe una gran variedad en los temas tratados y en las estrategias de enseñanza. La Educación Ambiental y las reglas de convivencia interpersonal fueron los dominios más referenciados. Las referencias a acciones solidarias en la comunidad y el establecimiento de reglas para la convivencia interpersonal constituyeron prácticas pedagógicas que remiten a una concepción actual de ciudadanía.Esta investigação visa compreender de que forma os professores do 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico (EB) implementam as políticas educativas de cidadania delineadas nos documentos oficiais. Assim, analisaram-se os textos legais e as orientações do Ministério da Educação português e da União Europeia, que definem as políticas de Educação para a cidadania, que têm servido de guia para os professores educarem para a/e na cidadania no EB. Os dados obtidos por meio de questionários disponibilizados on-line, respondidos por 109 professores com idades entre 23 e 63 anos, permitiram concluir que há grande variedade nos temas abordados e nas estratégias de ensino. A Educação Ambiental e as regras da convivência interpessoal foram os domínios mais referenciados.
