Popular culture in the academy: carnival as a study object of graduate programs in Brazil

Resumo: This work aims to reveal the movements of academic research in the face of the cultural phenomenon of carnival from the bibliographic production of Brazilian research communities between the years 2011 and 2021. As a methodological strategy we rely on the perspective of bibliographic research aligned with the principles of State of Knowledge, in its exploratory-descriptive character. The results of this investigation show the complexity of the field of studies of social culture, we highlight as emerging dimensions of analysis Culture and Territory, Culture and Memory, Culture and State, Culture and Languages, Culture and Business, and Culture and Society. This investigation evidences the formation of a multifaceted and interdisciplinary field of study, where different research communities observe the carnival phenomenon, linking to it elements present in the social fabric, such as issues related to the role of the state in the promotion of culture, the rescue of traditions in its expression of national culture, its relationship with local productive arrangements and the world of work.

Como estrategia metodológica nos apoyamos en la perspectiva de la investigación bibliográfica alineada con los principios de Estado del Conocimiento, en su carácter exploratorio-descriptivo. Los resultados de esta investigación muestran la complejidad del campo de estudios de la cultura social, destacamos como dimensiones emergentes de análisis Cultura y Territorio, Cultura y Memoria, Cultura y Estado, Cultura y Lenguas, Cultura y Empresa, y Cultura y Sociedad. Esta investigación evidencia la formación de un campo de estudio multifacético e interdisciplinario, donde diferentes comunidades de investigación observan el fenómeno del carnaval, vinculando a él elementos presentes en el tejido social, tales como cuestiones relacionadas con el papel del Estado en la promoción de la cultura, la rescate de las tradiciones en su expresión de la cultura nacional, su relación con los arreglos productivos locales y el mundo del trabajo.Ce travail vise à révéler les mouvements de la recherche académique face au phénomène culturel du carnaval à partir de la production bibliographique des communautés de recherche brésiliennes entre les années 2011 et 2021. Comme stratégie méthodologique, nous nous appuyons sur la perspective de la recherche bibliographique alignée sur les principes d'état des connaissances, dans son caractère exploratoire-descriptif. Les résultats de cette enquête montrent la complexité du champ d'études de la culture sociale, nous soulignons comme dimensions émergentes de l'analyse Culture et Territoire, Culture et Mémoire, Culture et État, Culture et Langues, Culture et Entreprise, et Culture et Société. Cette enquête met en évidence la formation d'un champ d'étude multiforme et interdisciplinaire, où différentes communautés de recherche observent le phénomène carnavalesque, en y liant des éléments présents dans le tissu social, tels que des questions liées au rôle de l'État dans la promotion de la culture, la sauvetage des traditions dans son expression de la culture nationale, sa relation avec les arrangements productifs locaux et le monde du travail.Este trabalho tem como objetivo desvelar os movimentos da pesquisa acadêmica frente ao fenômeno cultural do carnaval a partir da produção bibliográfica de comunidades de pesquisa brasileiras entre os anos de 2011 e 2021. Como estratégia metodológica nos apoiamos na perspectiva da pesquisa bibliográfica alinhada aos princípios de Estado do Conhecimento, em seu caráter exploratório-descritivo. Os resultados desta investigação evidenciam a complexidade do campo de estudos da cultura social, destacamos como dimensões emergentes de análise Cultura e Território, Cultura e Memória, Cultura e Estado, Cultura e Linguagens, Cultura e Negócios, e Cultura e Sociedade.
