Resumo: The text aims to discuss the meaning that assumes the integral formation proposed by the so-called "new" High School. It questions the meaning of integral formation, according to Law 13415/2017.Developed from bibliographical discussion, analysis of legislation and documents guiding the reform of high school, the article presents, at first, the course of the current reform and the defenses made for the integral education and expansion of school time for full-time high school.It analyzes, in a second moment, different perspectives for integral education developed in Brazil in comparison with the proposition of integral education present in the current reform, which we believe is based on privatist and market intentions, as opposed to conceptions that are based on emancipatory educational perspectives. It concludes with notes on the meaning that integral education needs to assume in high school, if we really intend the emancipation of young Brazilians who study in public school.

Cuestiona el significado de la formación integral, según la Ley 13415/2017. Desarrollado a partir de la discusión bibliográfica, el análisis de la legislación y los documentos que guían la reforma de la escuela secundaria, el artículo presenta, en un primer momento, el curso de la reforma actual y las defensas hechas para la educación integral y la expansión del tiempo escolar para la escuela secundaria a tiempo completo.Analiza, en un segundo momento, diferentes perspectivas para la educación integral desarrollada en Brasil en comparación con la propuesta de educación integral presente en la reforma actual, que creemos que se basa en intenciones privatizistas y de mercado, en oposición a concepciones que se basan en perspectivas educativas.Concluye con notas sobre el significado que la educación integral debe asumir en la escuela secundaria, si realmente pretendemos la emancipación de los jóvenes brasileños que estudian en la escuela pública.Este texto objetiva discutir o sentido da formação integral proposta pelo chamado ‘Novo’ Ensino Médio, segundo a Lei 13.415/2017. A partir da discussão bibliográfica, da análise de legislação e documentos orientadores da reforma do ensino médio, apresenta-se o percurso dessa reforma, sua concepção de formação integral e ampliação do tempo escolar; analisam-se diferentes perspectivas para a formação integral já desenvolvidas no Brasil, em comparação com a proposição da atual reforma, que entendemos estar fundamentada em intentos privatistas e de mercado opostos às concepções educacionais emancipadoras.
