Resumo: This study aims, through a literature search methodology, treat on the rights of personality and retaining the principle of human dignity. Therefore, it is used a dialectical approach to historical and comparative procedures between the events described by the authors analyzed in order to frame the importance of personal rights to dignified construction of the person as ontological category. Depicts is thus in many ways, how the study and appreciation of the person reflects, in the protection of those rights, thereby maintaining a dignified living in social bosom. Here it adds draw up a work, especially the influence of that principle in life worthy of the person in society to structure a system that protects their personality.

Para tanto, é utilizada uma abordagem dialética com procedimentos históricos e comparativos entre os acontecimentos descritos pelos autores analisados no sentido de enquadrar a importância dos direitos da personalidade, para construção dignificante da pessoa, enquanto categoria ontológica. Retrata-se, assim, sob vários aspectos, de que forma o estudo e valorização da pessoa reflete, no resguardo desses direitos, consequentemente, conservação de uma vivência digna no seio social.
