Resumo: This paper proposes to present the implications involving the patent system and its technological evolution from the unveiling of the perspective of biotechnology and possible impacts reflected in the Institute of Intellectual Property. The scope of the study is intended to analyze the "economic intentions" of the Agreement on Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights Related to Trade, objectives of the Convention on Biological Diversity, and the hegemonic model of developed countries. The solution goes back to the recognition the failure of the international intellectual property regime on an economic basis and the implementation of a model compatible with the CDB.

O escopo do estudo também destina-se analisar as “intenções econômicas” do Acordo Sobre Aspectos dos Direitos de Propriedade Intelectual Relacionados ao Comércio (TRIPS), objetivos da Convenção sobre Diversidade Biológica (CDB), e o modelo hegemônico dos países desenvolvidos.
