Resumo: The cosmetic use of Botulinum Toxin type A is the most performed invasive aesthetic procedure in the world, as it is an accessible, safe technique with good results in facial esthetics, promoting the attenuation of dynamic wrinkles. The research was carried out for articles published between 2014 and 2021, to identify and present the main complications due to the aesthetic use of Botulinum Toxin and its possible causes, with all we conclude that the excessive dosage and errors in the application technique, it is up to the professional strictly follow the protocols for the safe execution of the procedures.

Nesta revisão, serão apresentados a finalidade da toxina na estética, e o seu alto potencial, quando injetado em pequenas doses no local indicado, ela atua como um bloqueador, que impede a transmissão de estímulos, que por sua vez inibe a contração muscular, apesar da popularidade, a utilização da Toxina Botulínica pode causar efeitos adversos e algumas complicações decorrentes do uso incorreto do produto(altas dosagens) ou aplicação no local incorreto as mais comuns são ptose, e infecções entre outras, causando a frustração do paciente, e é apresentado nesta revisão os seus meios de reversão que não é de imediato (são por sessões), dependendo do caso é direcionado a um tratamento específico, para a intercorrência na ptose palpebral ou da sobrancelha - é indicado o tratamento com microcorrentes que é uma eletroestimulação. para ativar a contração muscular aos poucos, e entre outros tratamentos que será apresentado no decorrer do artigo. Assim, o presente estudo usou de revisão bibliográfica em bases de dados como Scielo, Pubmed, Medline e Lilacs.
