Education in undergraduate archiving in Brazil: the role of the archivist in audiovisual preservation

Resumo: The article aims to discuss the role of the archivist in audiovisual preservation in Brazil, from the perspective that audiovisual documents are, in addition to audiovisual patrimony, archival documents. In this sense, we seek to investigate, through the analysis of the curricula of Brazilian Archival Science courses, whether archivists have received adequate training to work in ​​audiovisual preservation area. The methodology used was qualitative, based on a bibliographical survey and on the analysis of curriculum data found in public universities that offer the Archival Science course in Brazil. The results of the analysis are shown in graphs for a more complete understanding of the academic education of archivists and point to the lack of the audiovisual preservation theme in this training, giving rise to new perspectives and directions for teaching, with a view to understand the place of audiovisual preservation in Archival Science and educate archivists prepared to deal with this endless management task that is preservation.

En este sentido, buscamos investigar, a través del análisis de los planes de estudio de los cursos de Archivología brasileños, si los archiveros han recibido una formación adecuada para actuar en el área de preservación audiovisual. La metodología utilizada fue cualitativa, basada en una encuesta bibliográfica y en el análisis de datos curriculares encontrados en universidades públicas que ofrecen la carrera de Archivología en Brasil. Los resultados del análisis se muestran en gráficos para una comprensión más completa de la formación de los archiveros y señalan la falta del tema de preservación audiovisual en esta formación, dando lugar a nuevas perspectivas y orientaciones para la enseñanza, con miras a comprender el lugar. de la preservación audiovisual en Archivología y formar archiveros preparados para manejar esta interminable tarea de gestión que es la preservación.O artigo tem por objetivo discutir sobre o papel do arquivista na preservação audiovisual no Brasil, sob a perspectiva de que documentos audiovisuais são, além de patrimônio audiovisual, documentos arquivísticos. Neste sentido, buscamos investigar, por meio da análise dos currículos dos cursos de Arquivologia brasileiros, se os arquivistas têm recebido formação adequada para trabalhar na área da preservação audiovisual. A metodologia empregada foi qualitativa, baseada em levantamento bibliográfico e na análise dos dados curriculares encontrados nas universidades públicas que ofertam o curso de Arquivologia no Brasil.
