Preliminary studies on chemical control of the flat acarus in pineapple plants

Resumo: Brazilian pineapple plantations have been attacked by the mite Dolichotetranichus floridanus (Banks 1900, Sayed 1938) (Acarina, Tenuipalpidae), that may reduce yield up to 16%. The following pesticides were tested with efficiency: monocrotophos, 0.08% a.i.; dimethoate, 0.15% a.i.; ethion, 0.1% a.i., and sumithoate, 0.1% a.i. No phytotoxicity effects were observed.
