Experiences of forgiveness in human constitution: a dialogue between Winnicott's psychoanalysis and Christian Theology

Resumo: The intention of this study is to reflect on the importance that the experience of forgiveness occupies in the process of human constitution, both through the psychoanalysis and human development theories of Donald Winnicott and through Christian theology's contributions to the subject. Both perspectives enable the understanding of forgiveness through two different qualities: the first is the silent forgiveness,  which is one's await for another's maturity; the second is an answer to an experience of repentance, which arouses in men an explicit request to be forgiven.  Finally, there is also a discussion regarding forgiveness as a learning of the care received by someone, as well as one's possibility of being able to take care of the world.

Procura-se pensar na importância que a experiência de perdão ocupa no processo de constituição do ser humano, tanto a partir de contribuições vindas da psicanálise de Donald Winnicott e de sua teoria do amadurecimento humano, quanto por meio da teologia cristã. Ambas as perspectivas utilizadas possibilitam a compreensão do perdão a partir de duas qualidades, uma como o perdão silencioso, que é espera de alguém pelo amadurecimento de um outro, e outra como resposta a uma experiência de arrependimento, que faz surgir no homem um pedido explícito para ser perdoado. Também se discute o perdão como um aprendizado do cuidado recebido por alguém e como a possibilidade de vir a cuidar do mundo.
