Resumo: How can the contemporary social representation of an urban public space reveal its transformations? It is in order to reflect upon the visible and hidden meanings of the image that we try to analyse a space considering it as a place. We have selected pictorial drawing, pictorial map and photography as images that are able to evoke places. These images, associated to texts of different origins, allow us to recognize some social transformations.
