Resumo: A short summary of the hemotherapic public system situation is presented. The following dimensions are analysed: types of donation, financial capital and service, organization as outstanding factors to understand the hemotherapic system. Some adjustments in the combination of the dimensions are suggested as a contribution to the improvement of the national blood policy.
