WOMEN IN SCENE: the feminine in contemporary times

Introduction: Feminine is a concept attributed to beings born with sex and female reproductive biological functions. In this way, it differs from the masculine, simply for natural reasons. Considering that society is articulated throughout its development to establish the need to demarcate these differences, a logic is proposed through the conformation of what is the female body and what is being a woman, attributed to the idea of ??femininity. It is understood that femininity is a social construction that lasts for centuries, with the purpose of establishing what it is to be a woman in different contexts. Objective: To reflect on the feminine in contemporary times. Methodology: Thus, it was a qualitative narrative study based on a literature review about the theme of the female in contemporary life. We chose studies that published in the last 10 years, as well as the reading of Simone de Beauvoir. Considerations: It is possible to identify that several modulations occurred through questioning and breaking with these social attributions. However, the dominant discourse that pervades disciplining women from an early childhood in gendered bodily practices, which are seen as natural or proper to femininity, when in fact are the result of a social construction sustained throughout history by cultural discourses. Nowadays, it is believed that women have been giving more places, empowering and fighting their rights, but there is a narrative for women about their own desires, adding their appearance as a determining mark of femininity, which generates a paradox between what it is to be female and what it really is to be female. It is important to consider that women are increasingly advancing, whether in the job market, in the face of situations historically established and supported by our culture. But contemporary female women still have much to contend with in order to demarcate their place and not to perpetuate an established paradigm and resonate with it. As Simone de Beauvoir states, “You are not born a woman: you become a woman” aware of the fact that women are taught from childhood to fulfill a purely social role of submission, femininity, self-care, preservation and bestowal. Vivemos uma era em que acredita-se ter obtido muitas revoluções e conquistas, entretanto qual o lugar dessa mulher, ela tem que seguir um padrão de beleza preestabelecido, cuidar da casa, ser mãe, trabalhar e exercer tantos papeis a ela atribuído, ou ela pode modificar tudo e se reinventar não enquanto o gênero mas enquanto ser humano. Esse é o questionamento que motiva a seguir com a pesquisa a fim de construir caminhos e possibilidades para não determinar algo e sim amplia-lo.
