Among the various types of discourses, such as philosophical, political, scientific and religious, there is a particular way of treating discourse from literature - the so-called "literary discourse". Treating the literary work as a discourse means uniting the literary institution to the enunciation that creates a new world, progressively building, through the intertext, an enunciative identity and a movement to legitimize the space of its enunciation. To improve the understanding of the constitution of literary discourse, we examined the work As intermitências da morte, by José Saramago, in three libraries of federal universities located in different capitals of the southern region of Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná). We analyze how the classification of literary information resources is carried out in concrete demands of users, with different levels of education, interests and information needs.
