Mixed Reality and Experimental Psychology: the study of the Sniffy Pro - Virtual Mouse experience

Resumo: | This article aims to describe the experience and learning possibilities of Experimental Psychology and Behavior Analysis through Sniffy Pro software 'the virtual mouse' in a mixed reality experience. The development of a discipline with an experimental nature has been increasingly scarce in the curriculum of psychology courses. Vivisection practices are increasingly gaining scientific and methodological criticism and facing barriers regulated by law, mainly regarding procedures for the scientific use of animals. The use of digital information and communication technologies to provide the best possible experience for their students in subjects related to modeling and analysis of human behavior, thus mixed reality, as a technology to enhance experiences in the digital and real world, comes to present itself as possible alternatives. The methodological procedure was carried out in two stages: (i) data collection through interaction and the recording of the mouse behavior modeling in the Sniffy Pro software, (ii) construction of cartographic maps (field diary) based on the method of cartography. The immersion in observing the behavior of the mouse and in the interaction and manipulation of the virtual environment in which the mouse is found, it can be seen in some moments that the interaction process has become realistic to the point of imagining the interaction with the real mouse making the mixed experience exciting for modeling behavior, however, in relation to the learning process, it can be characterized as insufficient in terms of developing the skills of psychology graduates, as the possibilities are limited and directed by teachers, I use Sniffy pro software. |

El desarrollo de una disciplina con carácter experimental ha sido cada vez más escaso en el currículo de las carreras de psicología. Las prácticas de vivisección están ganando cada vez más críticas científicas y metodológicas y enfrentan barreras reguladas por la ley, principalmente en lo que respecta a los procedimientos para el uso científico de los animales. El uso de las tecnologías digitales de la información y la comunicación para brindar la mejor experiencia posible a sus alumnos en materias relacionadas con el modelado y análisis del comportamiento humano, por lo que la realidad mixta, como tecnología para potenciar las experiencias en el mundo digital y real, viene a presentarse como alternativas posibles. El procedimiento metodológico se llevó a cabo en dos etapas: (i) recolección de datos a través de la interacción y el registro del modelado del comportamiento del ratón en el software Sniffy Pro, (ii) construcción de mapas cartográficos (diario de campo) con base en el método de la cartografía. O desenvolvimento de disciplina com cunho experimental vem sendo cada vez mais escassos nas grades dos cursos de psicologia. As práticas de vivissecção vêm ganhando críticas científicas e metodológicas cada vez mais forte e enfrentando barreiras regulamentadas por lei, principalmente quanto aos procedimentos para o uso científico de animais. O uso das tecnologias digitais da informação e comunicação para proporcionar a melhor experiência possível para seus alunos em assuntos ligados a modelagem e análise do comportamento humano, dessa forma a realidade mista, como tecnologia para potencializar experiências em mundo digital e real, vem apresentar-se como possíveis alternativas. O procedimento metodológico foi realizado em duas etapas: (i) uma coleta dos dados por meio interação e o registro da modelagem do comportamento do rato no software Sniffy Pro, (ii)construção de mapas cartográficos (diário de campo) com base no método da cartografia.
