Resumo: The article describes with the use of the juggling metaphor, the transformation trajectories within the production and consumption of Bolivian quinoa. Based on interviews to local producers and document analysis, it explores the complex local relations among social actors taking into account political, market production and consumption scopes within the rising international trade of Bolivian quinoa. Furthermore it explores the emerging performances that become materialized through well eating and assembled consuming spaces. The idea that quinoa is an “indigenous food” doesn ́t withdraws but instead it transforms and interpenetrates it with notions of fashion, health as well as social status. In this it suggests a perspective which diverts away from dualistic social changes notions that splits the material world.
