Resumo: The aim is to reflect on the Cadernos de Dona Cora – a compilation of manuscripts and printed materials – as first-hand source on the courses of the Movimento da Boa Nova (Mobon) that, directly or indirectly, formed many religious and political leaders in Minas Gerais. After reflecting on the Mobon courses, will seek to describe the trajectory of the Cadernos until its arrival at the NMSPP-CPDA/UFRRJ analyzing their use in three different studies. It will shed light on the question of the importance of documentary research and the existence of documents such as these notebooks for investigations into the struggles and memory of rural workers. The Cadernos made it possible to access the discourses, themes, questions and values that circulate and are (re)produced in the Basic Communities in the Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais since the end of the 1960s, which are also seen in “church” social movements of the region and beyond.
