Resumo: The Para is the largest producer of tropical timber, followed by Mato Grosso and Rondônia, and is currently the second largest exporter of wood from Brazil. This fact is linked mainly to abundant demand for wood. Therefore, the objective of this study was to define anatomical description of eight forest wood species traded in the municipality of Altamira, PA. The work was developed in the laboratory of Technology, Faculty of Forestry of the Federal University of Pará, Altamira campus. To describe the macroscopic structure of wood were used specimens with the size of 2x2x2cm in the plans (transverse, tangential longitudinal and radial longitudinal. The species studied were Angelim-amargoso, Angelim-vermelho, cumaru, curupixá, jatobá, maçaranduba, muiracatiara and piqui. The structures that showed greater differences between the species studied were the axial parenchyma and the growth layers. Addressed such structures will serve as an aid to identification and recognition of these woods for marketing in the timber market.

Instituto Federal do AmapáChipaia, Fabiana da CostaReis, Alisson Rodrigo SouzaReis, Luciane PereiraCarvalho, Josiane Celerino deSilva, Erica Fernanda Rodrigues da2015-04-01info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtigo científicoapplication/pdfhttp://periodicos.ifap.edu.br/index.php/JBFS/article/view/1410.18067/jbfs.v2i1.14Journal of bioenergy and food science; Vol 2, No 1: Journal of Bioenergy and food science, jan/mar, 2015Journal of Bioenergy and Food Science; Vol 2, No 1: Journal of Bioenergy and food science, jan/mar, 20152359-27100000-000010.18067/jbfs.v2i1reponame:Journal of Bioenergy and Food Scienceinstname:Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Amapá (IFAP)instacron:IFAPporhttp://periodicos.ifap.edu.br/index.php/JBFS/article/view/14/3310.18067/jbfs.v2i1.14.g33Copyright (c) 2015 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2016-11-29T18:05:59Zoai:periodicos.ifap.edu.br:article/14Revistahttp://periodicos.ifap.edu.br/index.php/JBFSPUBhttp://periodicos.ifap.edu.br/index.php/JBFS/oai||victor.sales@ifap.edu.br10.180672359-27102359-2710opendoar:2016-11-29T18:05:59Journal of Bioenergy and Food Science - Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Amapá (IFAP)false
