Resumo: The serendipity, as likes as any another change, is a constant in the human action and we are not lacking examples in the history, as the discovery of the penicillin, to see its great importance role at the innovation process. But, despite this importance, the serendipity is excluded of the neoclassic models, because of its static equilibrium approach and also for the treatment of knowledge. On the other hand, the Austrian methodology, for considering the dinamic efficience, the market as a process, the future as something to be made and the knowledge as disperse and to be discovery, it’s the best approach for the investigation of the occasional generation of innovation, called serendipy.

Sin embargo, a pesar de esta importancia, la serendipidad está excluida de los modelos neoclásicos, justamente por su enfoque dentro de un equilibrio estático y también por su tratamiento con relación al conocimiento. Por otro lado, la metodología de la Escuela Austríaca, por considerar la eficiencia como dinámica, el mercado como un proceso, el futuro como algo por hacer y también el conocimiento como disperso y a ser descubierto, es el mejor abordaje para el estudio de la generación ocasional de innovación, llamada serendipia.A serendipidade, como toda mudança, é uma constante na ação humana e não nos faltam exemplos históricos, como a descoberta da penicilina, para percebemos que tem um papel importante dentro dos processos de inovação. Entretanto, apesar dessa importância, a serendipidade está excluída dos modelos neoclássicos, justamente pelo seu enfoque em um equilíbrio estático e também por seu tratamento em relação ao conhecimento.
