Resumo: This Master Thesis reports propagation measurements of wireless communication systems operating in millimeter waves (mm-waves), more precisely in the 28 and 38 GHz bands. Initially, we have characterized diverse materials, utilized in the Brazilian civil constructions, as a function of penetration loss and reflection coefficient. The obtained values have been applied as input parameters of numerical simulations, carried out using Altair WinpropTM. Numerical and experimental investigations of path loss and path loss exponent (PLE) have been realized in indoor and outdoor environments, aiming SISO (Single-Input Single- Output), SIMO (Single-Input Multiple-Output), MISO (Multiple-Input Single- Output) and MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) applications.
