Resumo: Vulnerability in COVID-19 care exposes nursing professionals to a high risk of mental and physical health problems. Once the psychic vulnerability observed in them during daily work has been verified, it is necessary due to the restlessness to investigate and synthesize the knowledge already produced, seeking evidence for the improvement in mental health. The research aims to evaluate and synthesize results of studies published between 2019/2021, the proposed methodology was: integrative literature review; publications from the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and from LILACS, BDENF, MEDLINE and Scielo platforms were used. A sample of 24 articles was used. The results of the studies included in this review pointed to the following consequent problems: levels of anxiety, isolation, and depression are factors that point to the perceptions of excessive fear of losing a job, fear of error in practice and working hours, together with family estrangement. The applied research showed evidence that the importance of improving the management system as well as acquiring measures to protect the mental and physical health of workers exists.
