Text production in the 3rd year of elementary school: reviewing and rewriting in the development of higher psychological functions

Resumo: This paper presents part of a Masters in Education research that discusses text production, literacy and development of the higher psychological functions: attention, perception and memory. The research aims to understand how rewriting, based on the teacher-oriented review, contributes to the development of higher psychological functions in students in the 3rd grade of elementary school. The methodology used was the qualitative research of the pedagogical intervention type, based on the historical-cultural perspective and on the conception of writing as work, for data collection and analysis. The conclusion was that the revision and rewriting, stages of the writing process, when used by the teacher as a methodological tool, favor the development of attention, perception and memory, since they lead the student to perceive specific characteristics in the written text. They also direct students’ attention to the selection of pertinent information, making associations stored in memory to organize thought, and writing a text that serves the communicative purpose of the interlocution.

El objetivo de la investigación fue comprender cómo la reescritura, basada en la revisión orientada por el profesor, contribuye al desarrollo de funciones psicológicas superiores en los estudiantes del tercer año de la educación primaria. Utilizamos como metodología la investigación cualitativa del tipo intervención pedagógica, basada en la perspectiva histórico-cultural y en la concepción de la escritura como trabajo para la recolección y análisis de datos. Concluimos que la revisión y la reescritura, etapas del proceso de escritura, cuando son utilizadas por el profesor como herramienta metodológica, son favorables para el desarrollo de la atención, de la percepción y de la memoria, ya que conducen al alumno a la percepción de características específicas del texto en el modo escrito y dirigen su atención para seleccionar información pertinente, hacer asociaciones almacenadas en la memoria para organizar el pensamiento y ejecutar el texto escrito con la finalidad comunicativa de la interlocución.   Este trabalho apresenta parte da pesquisa de mestrado em Educação que discute a temática produção de texto, alfabetização e desenvolvimento das funções psicológicas superiores: atenção, percepção e memória. O objetivo da pesquisa foi compreender como a reescrita, a partir da revisão orientada pelo professor, contribui para o desenvolvimento das funções psicológicas superiores em alunos no 3º ano do ensino fundamental. Utilizamos como metodologia a pesquisa qualitativa do tipo intervenção pedagógica, pautada na perspectiva histórico-cultural e na concepção de escrita como trabalho para coleta e análise dos dados.
