Resumo: Based on an interview, this essay analyzes the precariousness of the teachers’ work within the private school system, comparing the teacher’s information to intellectual studies in the field of Education. The main focus is the teacher’s need to teach in more than one school, causing her continuous mobility between different educational institutions. The study’s aim was to identify the motivation behind a routine marked by mobility. The background for the discussion is the idea of education as a commodity, based on the Marxist theory, which allows the understanding that the school organization has systematically internalized – in the last decades – elements belonging to the business structure. In short, this study suggests that the need to teach in more than one school is an evidence of precariousness and reveals the elementary teachers’ flexibility.
