Resumo: The present article is dedicated to the studies of the poetry slams and saraus taking place in the outskirts of São Paulo city. In particular, the voices of the black women that express themselves in these environments will be highlighted. The objective of this study is to analyze the poetic, oral and body language of the performances that make up the presentations, as well as to emphasize in these manifestations their cultural relevance, besides showing the importance of saraus and poetry slams as means of social transformation through culture and marginal art.
