Land rationalization in the urban foundation of the 20th century

Resumo: The urban foundation at the beginning of the 20th century reflected the changes that occurred in the previous century, especially the Land Law (1850), the abolition of slavery (1888) and the Proclamation of the Republic (1889). That said, the work studies the history of Martinópolis/SP, demonstrating the impact of these factors on their formation and one of the facets that make up this process: the activities of colonization companies in the extreme west of São Paulo. The research, which contributes to the knowledge of the history of the region, makes use of literature focused on the topic and particularly of primary documentation.

Dicho esto, el trabajo estudia la historia de Martinópolis/SP, demostrando el impacto de estos factores en su formación y una de las facetas que componen este proceso: las actividades de las empresas colonizadoras en el extremo occidental de São Paulo. La investigación, que contribuye al conocimiento de la historia de la región, hace uso de literatura centrada en el tema y particularmente de documentación primaria.A fundação urbana no início do século XX refletiu as mudanças ocorridas no século precedente destacando-se a Lei de Terras (1850), a abolição da escravatura (1888) e a Proclamação da República (1889). Isto posto, o trabalho estuda a história de Martinópolis/SP, demonstrando o impacto desses fatores em sua formação e uma das facetas integrantes desse processo: as atividades das companhias de colonização no extremo oeste paulista.
