Resumo: The great speeches of the twentieth century faced a deep crisis and, according to the apostles of postmodernity, no longer govern the world. Marxism transvestite itself of neo-Marxism and lost its revolutionary charm. Structuralism had to give way to less laboratorial and more pragmatic analyzes. Psychoanalysis, attacked by neuroscience and the drugs of artificial happiness, may still be an interesting diagnostic tool, but it seems fragile as a therapeutic activity. Darwinism, even if it announces the overcoming of the eternal dispute nature × culture, in the name of a Solomonic synthesis, has not yet established itself as a major key to understanding man and society. Of all the discourses of modernity, perhaps what still retains greater political and academic strength is feminism. The reasons are pointed out in the interview with Aimée Vega Montiel, who opens this Revista Famecos.

El marxismo se travestió de neomarxismo y perdió su encanto revolucionario. El estructuralismo tuvo que ceder espacio a análisis menos laboratoriales y más pragmáticos. El psicoanálisis, atacado por la neurociencia y por las drogas de la felicidad artificial, tal vez aún sea una interesante herramienta de diagnóstico, pero parece frágil como actividad terapéutica. El darwinismo, aunque anuncie la superación de la eterna disputa naturaleza vs. Cultura, en nombre de una síntesis salomónica, aún no se afirmó como una clave mayoritaria para la comprensión del hombre y de la sociedad. De todos los discursos de la modernidad, tal vez el que aún conserva mayor fuerza política y académica es el feminismo. O marxismo travestiu-se de neo-marxismo e perdeu seu charme revolucionário. O estruturalismo teve que ceder espaço a análises menos laboratoriais e mais pragmáticas. A psicanálise, atacada pela neurociência e pelas drogas da felicidade artificial, talvez ainda seja uma interessante ferramenta de diagnóstico, mas parece frágil enquanto atividade terapêutica. O darwinismo, mesmo que anuncie a superação da eterna disputa natureza × cultura, em nome de uma síntese salomônica, ainda não firmou-se como uma chave majoritária para a compreensão do homem e da sociedade. De todos os discursos da modernidade, talvez o que ainda conserve maior força política e acadêmica é o feminismo.
