Resumo: This article aims to discuss the hybrid performances of thought of Modesto Brocos y Gomez. The book Viaje a Marte (1930), a fictional work that carries both an Utopian and an anecdotal aspect, is used as the main source of study. We analyzed the relation of the author to the Utopian literary genre and its relationship with satire, linking this to discussions of the late 19th century and early 20th century on the whitening of the Brazilian people, also taking into account the paintings he produced on the subject.

Se utilizó como fuente el libro Viaje a Marte (1930), obra de ficción que se mueve entre el género utópico y la forma anecdótica. Por lo tanto, intentamos analizar la relación del autor con el género literario utópico y su relación con la sátira, vinculándolos a los debates de finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX sobre el envejecimiento de la población brasileña, teniendo en cuenta también las pinturas que realizó sobre el tema.Este artigo tem como objetivo discutir as performances híbridas do pensamento de Modesto Brocos y Gomez. Utilizamos como fonte o livro Viaje a Marte (1930), obra ficcional que transita entre o gênero utópico e o modo anedótico.
