Resumo: The central issue raised by this work is the political nature of the Unidad Popular, which led in 1970 Allende to the Government of Chile. Political nature is understood as the set of ideological elements that allow the development of a proposal for transformation of the political regime and the power relationships that underlie. Interest to the political elements allowing that various parties of diverse tradition came to establish a common framework which sought to carry out a programme which stated start the road to socialism following a path institutional politician outside the rupture violent revolutionary approach. The paper establishes that the organizations that joined UP possessed, in spite of their differences, a set of common elements that converged in a historical, political and ideological framework. This convergence was connected with greater ideological weight of the Communist Party and its ability to bind to smaller organizations.

Por naturaleza política se entiende aquel conjunto de elementos ideológicos que permiten el desarrollo de una propuesta de transformación del régimen político y de las relaciones de poder que lo sustentan. Interesa aproximarse a los elementos políticos que permitieron que diversos partidos, de diversa tradición llegaran a establecer un marco común que buscó llevar adelante un programa que declaraba iniciar el camino al socialismo siguiendo una vía político institucional ajena a las ruptura revolucionarias violentas. Se plantea que las distintas organizaciones que integraron la UP poseían, a pesar de sus divergencias, un conjunto de elementos comunes que convergieron en con un marco histórico, político e ideológico. Esta convergencia estuvo relacionada con un mayor peso ideológico del Partido Comunista y su capacidad de aglutinar a organizaciones menores.O problema central que este trabalho aborda é o da natureza política da Unidade Popular, que levou em 1970 Allende ao governo do Chile. Por natureza política se entende aquele conjunto de elementos ideológicos que permitem o desenvolvimento de uma proposta de transformação do regime político e das relações de poder que o sustentam. Interessa aproximar-se aos elementos políticos que permitiram que diversos partidos, de diversa tradição, chegaram a estabelecer um marco comum que buscou levar adiante um programa que declarava iniciar o caminho ao socialismo seguindo uma via política institucional alheia as rupturas revolucionarias violentas. Acredita-se que as distintas organizações que integraram a UP possuíam, a pesar de suas divergências, um conjunto de elementos comuns que convergiram em um marco histórico, político e ideológico.
