The mineral activity, due to its locational rigidity, only develops the ore area, being so large, but its impacts are punctual, due to its facts the activity is submitted prior to the preliminary environment study – (EPIA) which should discuss the availability of this activity for the local economy, its potential impacts to the environment, and consider ways to mitigate these impacts with its consequent reduction, and new kinds of exploitation which allow a better use of non-renewable mineral resource. This way, develop the mining activity in the center of the Amazon forest is a great challenge that requires environmental studies to provide less impacting and innovative solutions, making the EPIA an environmental management tool that should be used in the best possible way. On the other hand, the activity, even with the EPIA causes damage to the environment, and such damage shall be the object of the Degraded Areas Recovery Plan - PRAD, which is contemplating actions that are necessary to promote the revival or recovery of degraded areas. As a way to crate compensations for this king of activity, a financial contribution was established by the exploitation of mineral resources – CFEM, which is in charge of compensating the federal government, states, cities and federal government departments for the exploitation of its resources, that must be converted as benefits for the population, especially for the mining cities
