Nos passos de Eurípedes Barsanulfo: sua pedagogia para os novos tempos

In the belief that there are many pedagogical approaches still unrepresented in pedagogy undergraduate courses, we have developed this research to contribute to the dissemination of Euripedes Barsanulfo´s pedagogy. Our goal was to study the life and practical methods used of this educator from Minas Gerais from the beginning of the XX century and analyse his pedagogical approaches based on the main pedagogical theories studied during our course. Our study was based on bibliographical research which has enabled a more detailed insight about: Minas Gerais education at the beginning of the First Republic of Brazil, the life of Euripedes Barsanulfo and the fundamental methods used by this teacher at The Allan Kardec School. We have analyzed thinkers and educators from Socrates and Plato, through Comenius, Rousseaus, Pestalozzi, Rivail and up until Freinet. In doing so, it was possible to frame Euripedes Barsanulfo´s practical approaches and reveal an innovative Brazilian education experience to the academic sphere. The methods of Euripedes Barsanulfo may still be used today. We need, urgently, to reorganize our conceptions of education, politics and philosophy.It has never been so urgent to re-evaluate the pedagogical practices, chose the educational content to be taught in schools and to develop a more humanistic approach.More than ever the world opens our eyes and reveals itself as a stage full of protagonists of all kinds
