Resumo: This doctorate research has as a theme: Art and Professional Formation: The Course of Visual Arts from the University of Joinville Region - Univille. The inspire objetctive for this process was identifying dialogues and stories about the paths of former students of the course, with reference to the multiple connections between the artistic and the professionalization of these individuals. We highlight this methodological construction, generating issues such as the choice for Visual Arts Course, memories of time travel, learning for personal and professional life, the memories of the teachers the course, the meaning of the Course to the cultural life of Joinville and the paths followed after completion. To understand the art as a category of human production presented in summary form the historical legacy of Teaching Art in Brazil. Then we discuss about the sociocultural history northern state of Santa Catarina with notes about the city of Joinville locating the course in this scenario. Finally, we highlight stories of former students from that uniquely reveal the importance of experience and training in arts, especially the visibility of this process to the cultural development of the city and to the professionalization of the teaching of art in this region

O objetivo inspirador para este processo foi a identificação de diálogos e relatos sobre os percursos de ex-alunos do Curso, tendo como referência as múltiplas conexões entre a vida artística e a profissionalização desses sujeitos. Destacamos, nesta construção metodológica, temas geradores, como: a escolha do Curso de Artes Visuais, as lembranças dos tempos do curso; o aprendizado para a vida pessoal e profissional; as lembranças dos professores do curso; o significado do Curso para a vida cultural de Joinville e os caminhos seguidos após a conclusão do curso. Para compreendermos a Arte enquanto categoria da produção humana, apresentamos, em forma de síntese, o legado histórico do Ensino da Arte no Brasil. Em seguida, abordamos antecedentes socioculturais sobre a região Norte do Estado de Santa Catarina, com apontamentos acerca do município de Joinville, localizando o Curso nesse cenário.
