Resumo: The present study aims to highlight the development of World and Brazilian professional football, based on an analysis from an economic and historical point of view, making it evident how the sport ceased to symbolize just a recreational activity, with a mostly amateur nature, and became a market with annual turnover of billions of reais around the world, with the specialization of agents involved in the business inherent to the sport, such as the negotiation of broadcasting rights, and the transfer of athletes between clubs.In addition, the work aims to prove that Law n° 14.193/2021, a rule that institutionalized the Brazil’s Soccer Corporation, will positively impact the management of clubs, which are currently mostly organized in the non-profit association model
