Resumo: Introduction: Even beyond environment and work organization factors, the behavior of the communications professionals can interfere in the vocal production. Objective: Analyze the occurrence of vocal symptoms in actors and associate them with their lifestyle. Method: A research of observational nature, duly registered on “Plataforma Brasil, utilizing data collected for research done previously with actors. Data referred to vocal aspects and daily habits of 100 actors that answered to a questionnaire called “Actor’s vocal production conditions” Descriptive data analysis was performed also association of all variables (Qui-quadrado Test –p<0,05). Results: Mostly male (56%) single, (75%), with higher education (61%), exercising more than one activity that uses voice (64%). Among them, 34% has missed work due to vocal issues. The signs and symptoms mentioned with more occurrences were: throat phlegm, throat dryness, thickness of voice and their behavior most present was: drinking alcoholic beverages (66%) wake up during the night (55%), and don’t avoid some time type a food (44%). Within association, it was registered some statistical difference between the symptoms thickness of voice, throat phlegm, dry throat, alcoholic beverages intake, smoking, and not avoiding some kind of foods. Conclusion: The actors referred mostly to the symptoms of throat phlegm, throat dryness and thickness of voice. As of behaviors, actors mentioned more of drinking alcoholic beverages (66%) wake up during the night (55%), and don’t avoid some time type a food (44%). When this variables were mentioned, the thickness of voice was related to drinking alcoholic beverages. Throat phlegm was linked to tobacco usage, dryness of voice was liked with not avoiding some kind of food, and lacking air was linked with absence of physical recreation activities. Having a good night of sleep and drink water when using voice appeared to be protection factors against burning feeling in the throat

Objetivo: analisar a ocorrência de sinais e sintomas vocais em atores e associá-los á seus hábitos de vida. Método: pesquisa de natureza retrospectiva observacional e transversal, devidamente cadastrada na Plataforma Brasil que utilizou banco de dados de pesquisa realizada anteriormente com atores. Foram analisados os dados referentes a aspectos vocais e hábitos de vida de 100 atores que responderam a questionário denominado: Condições de produção vocal do ator. Foi realizada a análise descritiva dos dados e de associação entre as variáveis (teste do Qui-quadrado - p<0,05). Resultados: a maioria é do sexo masculino (56%), solteiro (75%), com superior completo (61%), exercendo mais uma atividade que faz uso da voz (64%). Dentre eles, 34% já faltou ao trabalho por conta do problema de voz. Os sinais e sintomas mais mencionados foram pigarro, garganta seca e voz grossa e os hábitos mais presentes: ingerir bebida alcoólica (66%) acordar a noite (55%), não evitar algum tipo de alimento (44%). Na associação, foi registrada diferença estatística entre o sintoma voz grossa, pigarro, tosse seca e hábito ingerir bebida alcoólica, fumar e não evitar alguns alimentos. Conclusão: Os atores fizeram maior referencia a presença dos sintomas de pigarro, garganta seca e voz grossa. Quanto aos hábitos, foram mais mencionados: ingerir bebida alcoólica (66%) acordar a noite (55%), não evitar algum tipo de alimento (44%). Quando essas variáveis foram associadas, presença do sintoma de voz grossa se relacionou com ingerir bebida alcóolica, de pigarro com tabagismo, de tosse seca com não evitar algum tipo de alimento, e de falta de ar com ausência de atividade de lazer.
