This monograph aims at a critical study about how the modernization of employment relations has affected the physical and mental health of employees, generating the Professional Exhaustion Syndrome, currently known as Burnout Syndrome. The objective of this study is to highlight the factors that trigger the Occupational Exhaustion Syndrome, as well as the consequences of this in the work environment, both for the employer and the employee. The present work also aims to show measures of prevention of the alleged Syndrome, as well as the forms of preservation, through the implantation of measures for the health and safety of work in the labor environment. In this study, highlight the moral damage and moral harassment as the main causes of the affected work environment and the cause of psychological pathologies in this sense. In addition, the work seeks to demonstrate the causal nexus between the hostile work environment and the development of Burnout Syndrome through bibliographical research, as well as a brief analysis of jurisprudential decisions on the subject
