The objective of the present work is to bring to light issues related to the experience of sexuality in urban centers and to incite a questioning about the concentration of homosexuals in the metropolis. Through a psychoanalytic semiotic approach, we will try to understand how and why the urban question interferes and contributes to the legitimacy of sexual identities in big cities. Briefly, by approaching socio-historical issues, we will draw a timeline to visualize how this migration process began and what would be the pressures (internal and external) that collaborate for this migration to keep on happening in an increasing scale. What would be the signs present in the metropolis that causes a considerable number of individuals to move in search of a space to exercise their sexuality freely. This work will present the theoretical contribution of several academics from different areas, such as Sociology, Psychoanalysis, Semiotics, History, Anthropology and Philosophy and will try to answer the questions raised above
