Professores de ensino religioso em escolas confessionais de São Paulo: relações entre atuação e formação profissional

Although courses for Religious Education teacher training are present in post-graduation programs, there are few of these courses in the college, despite his availability is provided for in the Brazilian Federal Constitution and it is the subject of discussion in a specific Parameter Curriculum National (PCNER). In addition, profile of Religious Education teachers is not well known. In this study, the primary goal is to meet this need for information regarding these professionals, and to do so a semistructured interview was made, asking six questions for seven teachers from the private network who teach religious education classes in Catholic schools. It was observed that most teachers graduated in other areas of humanities, such as Sociology, Philosophy or Pedagogy. Also, part of respondents used material provided by the school and had little autonomy to implement or prepare lesson plans, and virtually none of them made mention of PCNER. A discussion of the models of Religious Education (catechetical, theological and religious studies) is also performed in this study, as well as a critique of the reach and tangible results after the publication of PCNER. It is herein advocated that Religious Education should be treated in a scientific way, as a tool for respect for all faiths and formation of a collective ethics
